Penn State Scranton Celebrate Pride! 2022

“Mx. Kelley is an absolute pleasure to work with! They put together an educational and entertaining drag show on April 11, 2022, and spoke about sex and sexuality in an Introduction to Health and Human Sexuality course on April 14, 2022. Both of these programs offered opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to get involved and learn as they participated. Everything from visual presentation to content to participation engagement was an invaluable educational experience curated by Jacob. Penn State University Scranton looks forward to working with Mx. Kelley again!

Bloomsburg University: Queer Confidence Speaker

“Jacob Kelley came to BU to speak about their experience in rural PA and specifically their time as a BU student. They made their audience laugh as well as shed a few tears as they talked about how they worked to become the amazing individual they are today. Having Jacob on campus was an amazing opportunity and would love to have them back again!.”

Virtual Guest Speaker: Lock Haven University-Introduction to LGBTQ Studies

“Mx. Jacob Kelley spoke to my Introduction to LGBTQ Studies class at Lock Haven University on Monday, Nov 8, 2021 on queer activism and queer spaces. They did a wonderful job. Even over Zoom (because of COVID-19 cases in the area), the presentation was interactive and Mx. Kelley was approachable and engaging for the students. In the days since then, I have had several students email me thanking me for having them talk to the class. The students also mentioned Mx. Kelley in a weekly assignment on the most important things they took from the class that week. They really enjoyed seeing a queer person succeed and take on leadership roles; many of my students are from rural areas, and the idea that a queer person could be open and out while taking on leadership positions was a new – and inspiring – one for them. I’d highly recommend Mx. Jacob Kelley as a speaker!”

Susquehanna University – First Drag Show

“Looking for a Drag Show for your university?  I highly recommend contacting Jacob Kelley. They were so easy to work with and they did all the work. The 2.5 hour show was not only entertaining, but also educational. The costume changes, the dancing, the stories kept the crowd laughing, clapping and singing along. The venue was full and all the students were engaged with the professional performance.  The first thing students talked about after was when can they come back. After 2 years of dealing with COVID, this was the program that got students out of their rooms. We are most certainly looking forward to having them back. Jacob will work with you to plan the show that will suit your students and university.  To all the Queens and Kings– Thanks for brightening our lives!”

Slasher Scotty Podcast Review

“I had a blast having Jacob on the show.  As a gay man myself, I hadn’t realized how much of the LGBTQIA+ community I didn’t know about.  The importance of pronouns and how the drag community is a big influence to those of all genders and sexualities to come together and have some entertaining fun.  I have known Jacob for at least 7 years now, and I am glad to have had them on my podcast, Slasher Scotty, and bring their wisdom of the community in education to educate my mostly horror following on the importance of equality, acceptance, and love.  I have received numerous positive feedback on their interview, which shows I made the right decision to have them on.  Jacob has joined the likes of Dee Wallace, Naomi Grossman, Terry Kiser, Dave Sheridan, and Michael Manning to be part of my show and I had a blast discussing the importance of acceptance.  Oh, and Jake was in their Drag persona, Trixy Valentine, for the show too, which made the point that much more important when told.  Thanks for the honor, Jacob.”

Wilkes University: Workshop Review for Nursing Students

Jacob KelleyQueer Educator, was so kind to visit my nursing class in summer 2021. Their presentation about Gender, Sex, & Gender Expression was wonderful! Rave reviews from our nursing students. Knowing this group was future registered nurses, Jake was open, honest, and shared his knowledge and experiences. They stayed and answered all student questions. Jake also shared their PowerPoint and resources on terminology for later posting on my learning platform. Their presentation increased knowledge, decreased any prejudice, and enhanced professional building skills. I highly recommend Mx. Kelley to speak with college students!.”

Rainbow Alliance Resource Pages

“Jacob Kelley Queer Education partnered with the Rainbow Alliance to produce two education resource pages on Coming Out and Allyship. Both pages were well thought out, detailed, and planned with care. Jacob provided citations to not only support the information covering each topic, but they also provided additional links for further reading. Jacob worked within our project timeline, remained open to feedback, and worked collaboratively to ensure top quality and customer satisfaction while never compromising the integrity of their knowledge as a subject matter expert. They are a terrific community partner with an understanding of current topics impacting the local LGBTQIA+ community. Highly recommended.”

Virtual Guest Speaker for: Sexual Wellness and Advocacy Group at Adler University

“Jacob Kelley provided an excellent overview on gender self construct for the Sexual Wellness and Advocacy Group at Adler University. A well-organized and thoughtful presentation educating current and future clinicians of all levels on ongoing research in the field of gender identity and expression. Mx. Kelley is an engaging educator with an inviting presence. They were very encouraging of audience participation in dialogue. On behalf of SWAG and Adler, we greatly appreciate Jacob’s time for the guest appearance to speak as an expert doing the research of such an important and salient topic.”

Virtual Guest Panel Speaker for LGBTQ+ Education and Support, Gonzaga University

“Jacob Kelley aka Trixy Valentine is an accomplished gender educator, drag artist, and engaging personality. As part of online programing at Gonzaga University, The Lincoln LGBTQ+ Resource Center invited Trixy to be part of a drag performer panel. During their time on the panel, they focused on their personal drag aesthetic, philosophy, and goals. Speaking from lived experience, a knowledge of contemporary queer media, and historic awareness, Trixy provided a nuanced approach to drag as queer culture and art as activism. Students appreciated the well-rounded way many aspects of drag were included in the discussion beyond just performing for fun or payment. I encourage others looking for a drag performer to reach out to Jacob as they are not only able to do an excellent performance but can speak engagingly about many facets of drag.”
