Guest Speaker 11-28-22

Mx. Kelley attended Bucknell University to attend Professor Chase Gregory, Assistant Professor of English. Mx. Kelley spoke to the class about “Queer Country” and the intersection of LGBTQAI+ life and rurality. The students were assigned the podcast interview of Mx. Kelley and Dr. McGuire, podcast. Students ask questions about the experience as a queer sex educator in rural PA.

Conference Presenter 11-18-22

Mx. Kelley attended The Bridging Connections: Regions VI and VIII Conference 2022. Mx. Kelley co-presented with Ryan Geiger, Global Engagement Coordinator | Global Learning of Penn State. We presented on current trends in supporting LGBTQIA students globally at the NAFSA Association of International Educators regional conference about Queer in the World: Supporting LGBTQA+ Students.

Drag Show & LGBTQA+ Workshop

Mx. Kelley hosted Bloomsburg University’s 10th anniversary Drag show which promoted understanding LGBTQA+ and Drag Culture. Trixy has been hosting BU drag shows for seven years. Students were taught an understanding of consent, respect, and confidence. With this, the students could also embrace and engage in an entertaining show of several different performers.

Panel Moderator 10-11-22

Mx. Kelley was a Penn State Harrisburg as moderator for their coming out panel in honor of National Coming Out Day. The event took place in the evening and had three diverse speakers for students, staff, and faculty to listen to and ask questions about. Before the event, Kelley created small, guided scripts, questions, and an understanding of speaking on a panel for the speakers. The event was a success for people to learn about the personal experience that different people in the LGBTQA+ go through.

Workshop & Drag Show 10-07-22

Mx. Kelley was at Susquehanna University, creating, conducting, and hosting the annual Drag show and a Drag dance course. This was the University’s 2nd drag show, which about 400 students attended to enjoy the positive energy of the drag performances and learn about different areas of sexuality and gender terminology. Their dance groups at the University were also able to be a part of learning about drag from an entertainment value, learning attitude, confidence, and some standard dance moves.

LGBTQA+ Workshop 10-06-22

Mx. Kelley was at Penn State Lehigh Valley and presented an engaging workshop around the History of Pronouns and Pride Flags to help understand some of the meanings of the LGBTQA+ Community. Students, staff, and faculty attended to learn the normalization of pronouns, language development, and the symbology and ideology of why pride flags are important.

Sex Education Workshop 09-27-22

Mx Kelley was at Penn State Hazleton to conduct a workshop called “Don’t Yuck My Yum” which taught students the importance of having an open mind around understanding sexual behavior and kink. The workshop consisted of terminology, activities to work on self-reflection, and mapping of their desires.

Keynote Speaker & MC 09-09-22

Mx. Kelley attended the first-ever Columbia Montour pride LGBTQA+ Community Awards. Mx. Kelley was in the top nominations of two categories. The awards were voted by the community within 5 different counties: Columbia, Northumberland, Montour, Snyder, and Union Pennsylvania. Kelley received Best Drag Performer and Best Activist and Leader awards.  A true honor to know the community supports and sees the work needed to continue to make LGBTQA+ people accepted and included in these counties.

Sex Education Workshop 06-06-22

Mx Kelley was invited to the NSWDD Dam Neck VA Activity PRIDE Event to teach about LGBTQIA+ inclusion and allyship. The session was an hour-long workshop that provided clear understanding to sexuality, gender and biological sex. Over hundreds attend this event in person and via a live feed. Military members engaged in conversation and questions about different aspects of the LGBTQIA community and identities. Kelley was presented with a challenge coin as a token of their time, and efforts and educating others about LGBTQA+ members.

Interview 06-07-22

Mx Kelley conducted and interview with Dr. Laura McGuire on Asking for a Friend podcast. They conversation was about what it is like to begin work as a sex educator, influencer and content creator while living with in Rural PA. The interview was released on June 7th and explains areas about entrepreneurship, HIV outreach, prevention, and fighting stigma.

Keynote Speaker / MC 06-04-22

Mx. Kelley teamed up with the Lauren Hess of Intoxicolgy Department to help host and put on the first ever Berwick Pride Day community event. The event had over 20 vendors and gave a space for LGBTQA+ space to come out and be who they are with their friends. Many youths around the area of Berwick PA came out and met other like them for the first time. The Berwick Pride event was a huge hit and was covered in the local paper the Press Enterprise and WNEP new station.

Drag Show 05-21-22

Mx. Kelley was at Berwick Community Arts Center and Theater, producing, directing, and hosting the annual Drag show. This was the theater’s first drag show, which about 200+ attendees enjoying the positive energy of the drag performances and listening to the stories of being LGBTQA+. The show was aimed to empower others to be who they are in a rural community.

Mx. Kelley was a guest lecturer at Juniata College to Prism LGBTQA+ Student group. Kelley introduced what the circles of sexuality are along with helped the students apply the circle to themselves and how they navigate their own sense of self and identity.

Mx Kelley was a guester speaker for United Ways monthly community conversations which talk about a related topic around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The conversation was an overview of why the words we choose matter and the power that comes from them. The session explained out dated terminology and how words can be changed with a conscience effort to make people feel more welcomed and included.

DEI Presenter Summit 4-12-22

Mx. Kelley Queer Education presented at the third annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Forum, presented by the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council and in partnership with the regional chambers! The session was called Affirming Language in the Workplace Speaker. This presentation is an overview of how workplaces can be more inclusive to people of the transgender, nonbinary, or gender-diverse community. The goal of the presentation is to learn how to affirm a person’s gender identity, the importance of using pronouns and other gender-neutral languages correctly, and to think about what practices can be put into the workplace
